The Brief

Set high in the Pyrenees, Horizon Festival combines underground electronic music with skiing and snowboarding. Over seven days, 120 DJs performed at over 30 events across 12 unique venues.

Neuron was brought in to deliver complete International Festival Sound Hire, providing trucked-in production support from the UK to Andorra. Our role covered full-scale audio systems, DJ backline and technical infrastructure for the festival’s largest indoor and outdoor stages.

A snow-covered outdoor stage with International Festival Sound Hire speakers and marquees, set up for an event at a ski resort, surrounded by red "Vallnord Pal Arinsal" banners and pine trees, with ski lifts visible in the background during snowfall.

Chapter 01 BRIEF

The Setup

From Manchester to the Pyrenees

Producing an event across mountain venues demanded precision logistics and carefully tuned systems. Our trucks carried the full Neuron sound arsenal from Manchester to Arinsal, designed to perform flawlessly at high altitude and in rapidly changing alpine conditions.

At the Arinsal Terrace Stage, we deployed a Void Acoustics Arcline 8 array supported by Void Stasys X Air and Stasys X v2 subs. Powersoft K-Series and X4 amplifiers ensured efficient, consistent power delivery across the system. On stage, Void Stasys 218s and Air Vantage monitors kept artists perfectly in the pocket.

Inside the Townhall Stage, a Danley Sound Labs system built around Jericho J3-94, SM80 and TH118 loudspeakers created deep, full-frequency coverage. Paired with Powersoft amplification and a Behringer X32, it provided a robust, high-fidelity setup that adapted easily to multiple live acts and DJ performances.

For smaller venues, Yamaha DSR and DXR systems were used to create versatile compact PAs, ideal for workshops, pop-ups and late-night sets.

Chapter 02 BUILD

DJ Backline – Site Wide

World-Class DJ Backline

With artists including Mala, Floating Points, Romare, OM Unit, Riot Jazz, AJ Tracey and Ben UFO, the DJ equipment and backline had to be world-class.

Neuron supplied a comprehensive DJ backline hire package as part of our International Festival Sound Hire provision, including Pioneer CDJ2000NXS2, DJM900NXS2, Allen & Heath Xone:92, Rane MP2015, and Technics SL-1210 turntables with Shure and Ortofon cartridges. Reliability, consistency and rapid changeovers were key across the festival’s 12 venues.

A stage set-up with large speakers, DJ equipment, and various gear is shown in an indoor venue with a wooden ceiling and exposed beams—perfect for an International Festival Sound Hire or upcoming music event.

Neuron Pro Audio are an incredibly professional and responsive team who work with you at all times to achieve your goal. Having worked with them, I would highly recommend them for any project.
