Suicide Bereavement UK – Conference AV Hire

Supporting the work of an important organisation

Manchester-based support group Suicide Bereavement UK do critical work. In collaboration with Pennine Care NHS Trust, their annual conference provides an opportunity for bereaved families and those struggling with mental health to connect with support workers and the scientific community to help them cope.

A cameraman wearing a mask and headphones operates a professional video camera in a studio, focusing intently on capturing the scene for a virtual event.

We were approached to provide conferencing services to live stream from a hotel location. Still, with lockdown restrictions in place, we advised that we could offer a much more cost-effective option by hosting the conference from our studio. Going down the virtual event route helped save valuable funds for the organisation to support their work.

With a range of presenters and break out workshops, we set up a comprehensive control system at our premises from our extensive AV hire stock. We were distributing and coordinating many zoom calls from around the world.

With the conference being digital-only for this edition, the organisers found it dramatically increased their potential reach with international attendees and speakers from over 20 countries able to be included.

Our delivery was such a great success that the organisers asked us to deliver streaming on top of their usual in-person offering later in 2021. Utilising the hybrid event approach increases their services’ potential reach and impact and offers greater event capacity and income opportunities. We strongly believe that streaming will form a key component of live conferencing for years to come.
